Reproductive Health Activities
The Reproductive Health arm of the YMCA have maintained a high tempo in the RH world since the inception of the Reproductive Health Office in 2003. It should be noted that it is the most thriving Reproductive Health Project among the six " YES Project" in Nigeria.
The Centre of Development and Population Activities ( CEDPA ) have been partnering with Bauchi YMCA in the last two years and a new MOU has been signed for the next two years. Society for Family Health (SFH) has recently joined the league of teaming partners.
Bauchi YMCA Reproductive Health Project, with the aim of sensitizing community members the ills and effects of HIV/AIDS, poor parental care, poor family planning choices that leads to increased poverty and health hazards.
The Project team had successfully completed a numbers of projects such as the YES Project phase I and phase II, YMCA CEDPA 'Kyautata wa Iyali' project, YMCA BACA project, KU SAURARA 'Listen up' radio programme etc. At the moment, the center is simultaneously running different projects which are:
- YMCA/CEDPA KI project with the aim of maximizing access to quality family planning services in Northern Nigeria.
- YMCA SFH 'CIHPAC' project with aim of increasing awareness on the scourage of HIV/AIDS and creating prevention strategies in Sabon Kaura community of Bauchi
